Maintaining growth is a challenge for every business leader, and success in doing so is an important marker of success.
For A-N-C CEO Alex Sanchez, growth is made possible by strong industry expertise and a willingness to continue learning and developing new strategies. After starting his career with another California-based cold storage company 25 years ago, Alex soon developed the knowledge and skills required to grow his own company.
A-N-C remains a family-owned company to this day, and strong growth has been achieved at the same time as maintaining a work-life balance. “I am extremely focused and have the belief that when I am at work I work,” said Alex during an interview. “We all understand this is our ‘bread and butter’ and work-life balance is what we make it.”
Forming a strong team work ethic is vital for any business, but ultimately it’s attracting clients that will allow for growth. To gain repeat business and bring in new clients, it’s important that the standard of work is high. “Our reputation for good honest workmanship and continued relationships with our customers have resulted in our biggest form of advertising,” said Alex. “This has assisted in our growth as well as our continued learning and understanding of the latest marketing strategies for our industry.”
Another important factor is staying up to date with the latest developments in the industry. For Alex, that means joining the International Association of Cold Storage Contractors (IACSC) and maintaining relationships with insulated panel companies. Strong market research allows A-N-C to predict future trends in cold storage construction, and make sure that clients are able to take advantage.
A-N-C has a number of clients on its books that handle food storage and transport, and the sector is set to continue to grow. “The cold storage industry has made significant strides in this last decade, due to the demands and changes in all areas of food,” said Alex. “Poultry, meats, dairy, and logistics are seeing more demands to improve the freshness of foods.”
According to Alex, pharmaceuticals are another strong growth area, and one that has an important future. Alongside food and pharma, A-N-C is always open to working with companies from different sectors. “A-N-C will continue to grow in more diverse markets, and share our vision with those who support the company,” said Alex.
With major technological and regulatory changes on the horizon, Alex and the team at A-N-C Cold Storage Construction are working hard to ensure that their clients can turn challenges into opportunities. With a long list of happy clients and plenty of projects in the pipeline, the future looks bright for A-N-C and those that work with the company.
